MERIDIAN BROTHERS, afkomstig uit Bogotá – Colombia, speelt al sinds 1998 een unieke exotica-blend onder de noemer ‘neotropicalism’. Eblis Álvarez (componist en multi-instrumentalist) steekt zijn bewondering voor het tropicalismo van de jaren ’60 en ’70 – de stroming die o.a. Gilberto Gil en Caetano Veloso voortbracht – dus niet onder stoelen of banken. MERIDIAN BROTHERS begon als een klein muzikaal laboratorium dat hun muziek op cassettes verspreidde. Vanaf 2007 werd het project ook een live-act, die op vandaag bestaat uit María Valencia (blaasinstrumenten, percussie en keyboards), Eblis Álvarez (zang, gitaar en regie), Mauricio Ramírez (Drums), Alejandro Forero (keyboards), César Quevedo (bas) en technicus Alejandro Araujo.
De groep trad voor het eerst op in 2008 in Bogotá, bereikte later nationale festivals en kreeg internationale erkenning na de release van het vierde studioalbum “Desesperanza” (2012). Sinds 2010 onderneemt Merdidian Brothers internationale tournees en speelt op belangrijke festivals en podia in Europa, de Verenigde Staten en Latijns-Amerika, waaronder het Roskilde Festival (Denemarken), Rencontres trans musicals (Frankrijk), Worldtronics (Duitsland), Festival Paleo (Zwitserland), Rock al Parque (Bogotá-Colombia), NRMAL Festival (Mexico), Bahidorá Festival (Mexico), SummerStage (NY, U. S), Licoln Center (NY, V.S), Big ears festival (Knoxville, V.S).

MERIDIAN BROTHERS, hailing from Bogotá – Colombia, has been playing a unique exotica blend under the banner of “neotropicalism” since 1998. So Eblis Álvarez (composer and multi-instrumentalist) makes no secret of his admiration for the tropicalismo of the ’60s and ’70s – the movement that produced the likes of Gilberto Gil and Caetano Veloso. MERIDIAN BROTHERS began as a small musical laboratory that distributed their music on cassettes. From 2007 the project also became a live act, which today consists of María Valencia (wind instruments, percussion and keyboards), Eblis Álvarez (vocals, guitar and direction), Mauricio Ramírez (Drums), Alejandro Forero (keyboards), César Quevedo (bass) and technician Alejandro Araujo.

Als construction partner levert Lotto als partner van de Belgische muziek een essentiële bijdrage aan de uitbouw van Muziekclub Wintercircus tot de meest technisch vooraanstaande muziek- en nightlifeclub van Europa. Lotto investeert mee in de high end technische uitrusting van de zaal en de studio op vlak van beeld, licht en geluid.
